href="http://www.amazon.com/Best-Place-Be-Novel-Stories/dp/1416532625/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1217946939&amp;sr=1-1">The Best Place to Be</a> is a novel in stories, and all of the stories are told by the same narrator, Grace, at pivotal moments in her life, between the ages of 18 and 50ish.  This is literary fiction with terrific mass appeal&#8211;a first person narrator who is page-turningly appealing.  Most of the stories are set in Greenwich Village.  The book has depth, the stories do not proceed chronologically, they circle around in time, so we see Grace in the round.  </p><p><em></em>Elle magazine said, <span
